Please don't take plants with you

IN recent years Bridgevale Park and Nature Reserve in Durban North has been transformed into a safe green space with a one kilometre oval shaped track for walkers and nature lovers to enjoy.

The project to beautify and uplift the park was carried out by Enviro Fixers Durban North in collaboration with the City’s Parks Department and an official sign recognising it as a park and nature reserve. The park is maintained and uplifted through community funding and members have asked visitors to refrain from removing plants or trees from the park. According to Helen Koch of Enviro Fixers, in the most recent incident someone had removed aloes and crassulas from a bed inside the park and at the entrance gate on The Drive.
